How does Blockd work?
Blockd installs a local VPN tunnel on your device that routes DNS queries to our content filtering server. This blocks unwanted content at the network level across every app and browser. A persistent connection monitors your protection status in real time.
How do I set up an accountability partner?
Open the App and go to the Partners tab. Share your unique accountability code with your partner, or enter their code to connect. Once linked, your partner will receive real-time status updates about your protection.
Will my partner know if I disable protection?
Yes. Your accountability partner receives a push notification within seconds if you disable the VPN, turn off protection, or uninstall the App. This is the core deterrent mechanism of Blockd.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Find Blockd and tap Cancel Subscription. You’ll retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period. You can also manage your subscription via Apple’s subscription management page.
What’s the difference between Free and Pro?
The free tier includes up to 5 custom domain blocks, service blocking (Netflix, YouTube, etc.), Safe Search, parental controls, and accountability partnerships. Blockd Pro ($4.99/month or $39.99/year) unlocks unlimited custom domain blocks and time-based scheduling.
How do I delete my account?
Open the App, go to Settings > Account, and tap “Delete Account.” This permanently removes your authentication data, server-side records, and VPN profile. Your accountability partners will be notified. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
The VPN won’t connect. What should I do?
Make sure you have an active internet connection and that no other VPN is running on your device (iOS only supports one active VPN at a time). Try toggling protection off and on again. If the issue persists, go to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management and remove the Blockd VPN profile, then reopen the App to reinstall it.
